Winding Down for Christmas

Well its the count down to Christmas....Workshop are coming to an end, I'm wrapping up the events in Smethwick, should I run stalls up to Christmas?

Cold and windy, but dry!!!!

Great day yesterdays at Find it in Sandwell's, Christmas in the Square.
Was even filmed! scary but its all promotion.
The day was bitter cold and long, but I stuck it out and meet some lovely fellow stall holders. Thank you to everyone who popped along.

Busy, busy, busy

I can't beleive how busy I am at the moment, I've had about 8 weeks with hardly any work, now I'm almost fully booked till Christmas. I have some new work in progress, need to get new pictures on my blogg, my aim is that by this Monday I will have new pictures, Friday is going to be photograph day!!!!! sneak preview

I can not believe the way things are turning around this week, I was in a dip last week feeling un-confident, but in the matter of days things have completely changed. Today I have just finished two school workshops, work until Christmas and I can not tell you how much I have enjoyed them. Children will answer questions, give you their ideas it is such fun and they seem to love art, so I am feeling very energised and lucky to be doing what I do. Tomorrow I've been short listed for a Sandwell Learning Award at West Bromwich Albion football stadium, fingers crossed, I am so chuffed that someone thought I deserved an award for the hard work I've done setting up my own business and to be short listed I can't believe it, what a week I've had so far. I have set time aside at the end of the week, to pop new picture of my work on here, so keep checking out my blogg.

WISE EVENT

I have had the best day today at the Wise event held and The Public. New work, fantastic feedback and some promising contacts. More tomorrow with pictures of new work!!!!!

Countdown to WISE event

2.00am and finally finished new pieces for firing, up this morning and start again, no rest for the wicked. Late one again tonight and up at the crack of dawn tomorrow.

Disk pendant

All my work is unique and my jewellery is made using silver clay, each piece is crafted , fired and polished by hand. Every piece is hallmarked with my individual makers mark and silver quality verified. I used silk thread to make the neck chain available in a variety of colours and glass beads.

Onwards and upwards!

This is a new beginning for me, I have recently taken the big jump and I've set up my own business.............Allison Franks designer/maker.

What do I do? well there's a number of things, I design/make jewellery, glass panels/dishes and mosaic tiles/signs.

All pieces are bespoke, one of a kind and unique.

I run workshops within my local community and school's and I am also an events coordinator.

The reason for me to start this blog?

I've been to a networking event for Women tonight (men are also welcome), but and its a BIG BUT! I have decided, while I can handle large events, support others with their business ideas and deal with a classroom full of children.....when it comes to promoting myself and the work I do, I turn into a blithering idiot who is almost apologetic about the work they do and its driving me up the crazy AAAAARRRRRRRGH.


I have watch other inspirational women tonight and sat there wishing, I was them. So Ive decided that I'm not the only one, I am not the first to feel this way and I wont be the last, I am going to do something about it and I'm going to start now............so here I go.....


Monday I have a stall to promote my work at The WISE Event @The Public, West Bromwich an excellent opportunity but I'm am dreading it, but I am going to do it and be proud and confidant of my work and do my best, so fingers crossed. The weekend is going to be busy preparing work here goes....
