Welcome to my blog!

My name is Allison Franks and in 2009 I decided to take the big leap and start my own arts business. I still find it weird to hear or say “I have my own business” who would have thought it, I’m a forty something, I’m not good at spelling and writing, my confidence comes and goes in waves and I’ve never had much money.  

My business is small (just me) and most days I work from day to day never quite knowing where the next job is coming from. Like many people, I have a family which I help provide for, so at times things can be stressful with long hours. But, I love handmade, working with people who want to try new things and working with children, so that's what keeps me going. 

All my work as a designer/maker is bespoke and unique; I design and make glass jewellery, tiles and decorative panels, taking inspiration from mother nature and the world around us. I work within my local community delivering art workshops, mostly in schools.
 The children I work with never cease to amaze me with their imagination, ideas and their have go attitude and its wonderful to see the work they produce.
